About
Wilde soul…the sweet river of life flows on.
i am The Mountains
my roots are firm in the Cabinet Mountains, traversing the precambrian metasedimentary talus slopes and extending deep into the bedrock in a symbiotic, dendritic web. it is in these mountains i was born to, where i first discovered being, and i continue to unravel in the wilde landscape, as geologic folds are warped by the elements of wind, water, and fire so to i experience erosion, dissolution, and reconstitution.
the wilder is a cauldron for deep spiritual awakening and transformation. more and more i reflect on my wilde becoming, subduction and intrusion into a primal form, recognition of a rich mycelial relationship interdependence. a honing, vibrational resonance transpiring in the presence of the more than human world, a ritual purification from sweat induced traverses across beargrass slopes, over and under rock giant boulders, through aged alpine larch groves, and immersion in snowmelt mountain lakes. eventually, the spirits of the landscape discern an acceptable level of cleansing. there is a reception, welcoming embrace in the mycelium fabric of life. with utmost reverence and deep heartfelt intention i walk gently with my family of moss and lichen, ferns and stinging nettles, osprey and bat, mountain goat and beaver. i engage from a place of service, to give back to, to reciprocate the bounty that i have received that i stand humbly before these awe inspiring beings. with gratitude it is my responsibility to honor these places.
ventures into the hinterlands of rock and ice, devils club and alder brambles, scree slopes, moss laden waterfalls, and craggy nameless ridges sans trails, though a refuge from the industrial consumer culture are a sacred reminder of how to live in right relationship. these wise, ancient beings remind us there is no separation, though form has infinite expressions, we are of the same breath. as the mountains breathe so do i. as the rivers breathe so do i. as the forests breathe so do i. this experience of being human is a great honor and privilege bestowed upon the fortunate. how shall I be remembered by the landscape? as one who lives in harmony? as one who lives compassionately? as one who lives peacefully? as one who lives joyfully?
yes, this body will decay, rot, decompose, be mulched and feed the fabric of microbial soil, be absorbed back into the living biosphere of the Earth. my energetic imprint signature will dance on the wind, howl across shear rock cliffs, and echo in the cathedral of mountains.
infinite gratitude to the spirits of the Cabinet Mountains, may the next seven generations be fortunate enough to experience the abundance i have been blessed with.
